Enrique Einar Bledel Huus, her paternal grandpa, was of German and Danish ancestry and was vice president of Coca-Cola Latin America and the Coca-Cola Inter-American Corporation. Enrique was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Jean (née Campbell), who was born in New York and had Scottish, Irish, and English ancestry, was Bledel’s paternal grandmother.

Nanette, Bledel’s mother, was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and relocated to Mexico City when she was eight years old.
