TV Doctor Mehmet Oz gets excited about a lot of things - exercise, healthy eating, anti-aging secrets.

Now he can add pasta to that list, it appears.

In a recent photo shoot for Good Housekeeping, a picture of Dr Oz seems to show the medical expert engaged in his very own battle of the bulge.

Since the picture was published in the April addition of the magazine, the Internet has been awash with speculation as to whether or not the suspicious-looking shape in his crotch area is due to his apparent excitement over a bowl of pasta.

Loves his noodles: The TV health expert appeared in the April addition of Good Housekeeping to tell readers about losing weight while eating the foods you love

The doctor certainly looks very happy as he breathes in the aroma of the food, leaving readers wondering if the noddles had an effect on his doodle.

Some people believe it is the angle of the camera, others think it is an optical illusion created by a crease in his pants. His people aren't saying anything.

Dr Oz has been a medical expert on the Oprah Winfrey show since 2004, landing his own TV programme in 2009.

His show contains everything from health advice, exercise tips, healthy food recipes and weight loss to advice on allergies, children's health and alternative medicine.

He has been married for 26 years to radio show host Lisa Oz. At the end of last year he said in an interview with Shape magazine that the secret to a happy marriage is lots of sex.

'Sex helps you live longer. It’s been scientifically proven that twice a week equals three more years of life,' he said.

The high-profile celebrity couple, who have four children, opened up about their relationship as they shared tips for a successful marriage.

Mrs Oz, who hosts her own radio show on Oprah's Radio Network, admitted that she had to accept her husband put his work first ahead of the family.

'For years I wanted Mehmet to work less and play with me more,' she said. 'I've come to realize you can’t sit around and wait for the other person to do the things you want to do.

Let's hope it was thoughts of his wife and not the bowl of noodles he was eating that got Dr Oz so excited.
