'Until I was holding them, I didn't believe it,' Mrs Grover, 43, told TODAY.com.

'We've already been through the adoption process three times before, but this one sent us on an emotional roller coaster.'

On Tuesday, March 1 she shared the touching video on Facebook which showed the moment the boys raced into their arms as hysterical cries could be heard in the background.

The post read: 'In 2012 (yes, you read that correctly...2012), we started the adoption process to bring home our two precious sons from the Democratic Republic of Congo.'

The video to date has been viewed more than 4.9 million times and has been shared more than 14,000 times.

'I feel lucky that I'm able to give these boys a home and a family,' Mrs Grover told TODAY, adding 'even if it did take longer than expected.'

The Grovers had received a legal adoption decree for the boys a year after they began the adoption process.

And by that September, they were just waiting for United States visas to process for Joseph and Bronson.

However, Congolese officials abruptly put a suspension on issuing exit letters, not allowing children adopted by foreign families to leave the country.

The Grovers  told TODAY that they had done everything from the lengthy court process to being financially responsible for the boys, and they said they had even gone to the DRC to meet them.

'They were ours in every way,' Mrs Grover said. 'I can't describe the pain I was feeling during that period of limbo.'

Eventually, they received an email from the State Department in February indicating that it was granting 119 children exit letters, and the boys were both listed before they came home this month.

Joseph and Bronson join the couple's six other children, four of whom are the couple's biological children and two who were previously adopted into the family.

The couple had adopted another child who passed away after suffering a stroke.

Since their emotional meeting earlier this month, Joseph began the eighth grade this week and is even in classes with his 14-year-old sister Lauren who was adopted from Kazakhstan in 2002.

Meanwhile, Bronson has learned to ride a bike with training wheels.
